The death of Prof. V.R.Muthuveerappan - Former Head of the Department - Mechanical Engineering Annamalai University, was condoled by the staff members of the department at the Heat Transfer Laboratory - 12.30 PM.

The Head of the Department Dr. N. Krishnamohan Addressed the gathering consisting of Senior professor's and supporting staff members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He recalled the contribution made by Prof. VRM (as he is known to his colleagues and students) towards the growth of the Department. His contributions in the field of solar Energy and thereby the International convention was reminisced with nostalgia. He retired in the year 1986. On behalf of the Department two minutes of silence was observed in his memory and the gathering has expressed their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members. A condolence message on behalf of the Department would be passed on to the bereaved family.
