(A FORUM TO HARNESS THE YOUTH TALENT)

ACTIVITIES PLAN



The Objective: To utilize the free time of the students into various activities that would help them in moulding themselves to better individuals in the society.
The Modus Operandi:

The identified activities are Literary, Placement, Cultural and Sports.

Of the 5 working days 4 of them is allocated to each of the activity.

Monday – Literary

Tuesday – Placement

Wednesday – Cultural

Thursday – Sports

Friday is kept as reserve for any carry forward activity.

For the activities other than sports, a permanent hall would be allocated with PA system.

The colloquium would meet at 4.45 PM to plan for the activities

The activities will spread over 15 weeks for each semester. This means a maximum of 15 different events for each council. If a particular event has to be carried forward it can be done on subsequent week/s

The Last activity for each council would be the valedictory function.

The Council:

There would be four councils for the four planned activities.

The Chairman for the MEA would be the Prof & Head of Department - Mechanical Engineering.

The Treasurer for the MEA 2010- 2011 is Mr J. Prabhakaran



1. Literary Council

The council is made up of

a) The Staff advisor and his team – Prof N. Viruthagiri – Vice Chairman

Mr. S. Krishnan – Staff In Charge

The work profile of the council is as follows:

President: He will be the presiding officer of the council. He is responsible for the activities of the council. He should plan for the weekly activities of the council. He should get the approval for all the activities from the staff advisor well in advance.
Vice President: Support the president in his activities, responsible to divulge and inform the students of the activities of the council. He is responsible for the preparation of the venue for the activity.
Year Secretary: He is responsible for the related public relations of the activity. Prepare the circular for the activity. Take care of the chief guests / speakers / specialists who are invited for the activity. Souvenir preparation (Literary and Placement Combined).
Batch Secretary: He is the nodal person for the co-ordination of activities between the batch and the other office bearers. Main responsibility is to maintain law and order during the activity.
